No. 5 Southeastern picked up a walk-off win in the ninth inning in the series opener against Ouachita Baptist before following up with a 5-1 win in the nightcap to polish off a day one sweep on Friday afternoon at the Southeastern Softball Field.
The Savage Storm improved to 34-7 overall on the season and 18-3 in Great American Conference play heading into Saturday's twinbill which begins at Noon.
Saturday will also serve as senior day for four SE seniors, Dakota Palmer, Courtney Moore, Kaija Morris and Paige Priest.
The Storm piled up 16 hits in the opener which was the longest game in terms of time this season by five minutes.
Courtney Riddle, Moore and Lauren Renneker each picked up three hits on the contest, withy Lacie Cook and Whitney Hamilton each adding two hit outings.
Riddle connected on a two-run home run and added a third RBI, while Moore and Renneker each added two RBI.
Renneker's two RBI came in the bottom of the ninth and were the game-tying and game-winning runs.
Mindy McElroy got the start and tossed 3.1 innings, allowing three runs on five hits with one strikeout before handing the ball to Jacee Bennett who threw 5.2 innings and allowed three runs on six hits with seven strikeouts.
Riddle put the Storm on the board with a sac fly that plated Cook in the third inning, but OBU responded with three runs in the fourth to go up 3-1.
Riddle then connected on a two-run homer in the fifth inning to knot the game at 3-3.
After scoreless innings in the sixth, seventh and eighth, the Tigers picked up three runs on three hits in the top of the ninth to lead 6-3.
Darrian Williams opened the bottom of the ninth with a single and moved to second when Riddle reached on an error. Both moved up on a wild pitch.
Moore then brought both runners home with a single to right field that closed the gap to 6-5.
Hamilton then followed with a single which moved Moore to second and was followed by a Laramie Beal single that loaded the bases.
OBU would get a force out at the plate on a ball McElroy put in play, and one batter later Renneker singled through the left side which brought home Morris, pinch-running for Hamilton, to tie the game and Beal followed her in for the game-winning run.
Southeastern wasted little time in jumping out in front in the nightcap first picking up a run on a Moore single that plated Williams.
Riddle would come around a score one batter later when Hamilton tried to lay down a sac bunt that was thrown wide of first base.
That lead stretched to 4-0 when McElroy singled up the middle, bringing in Moore and Hamilton.
Priest singled home Rachel Jones in the third inning to push that lead to 5-0.
OBU would pick up a run in the top of the seventh, but the Storm would hold on for the 5-1 win.
SE posted nine hits in the contest with Priest picking up the only multi-hit outing with a 2-for-3 outing that included an RBI. Cook, Williams, Dakota Palmer, Riddle, Moore, McElroy and Jones each added a hit.
McElroy drove in a pair of runs, while Moore, Hamilton and Priest each had one RBI.
McElroy got the start and tossed four scoreless innings to pick up her 14th win of the year after allowing just one hits and facing one over the minimum.
Shayna Milam came on in the fifth and tossed three innings and struck out four while allowing a run on four hits to pick up her first save of the season.
