BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – For the seventh-consecutive season, Southeastern has earned trip to a conference post-season tournament, with this year's trip marking its second in-a-row in Great American Conference play as it faces Harding at 12:00 p.m. on March 7 at Bruin Field House in Bartlesville, Okla.
The Savage Storm reached five-straight Lone Star conference tournaments and has advanced to the postseason event in both years of the GAC's existence.
SE comes into the tournament with a 10-16 record overall on the season and are the No. 6 seed after posting an 8-12 mark in league play.
The final loss of the season came this past Saturday at the hands of its first-round opponent, Harding.
The two teams have met twice this season with each team holding serve on its home court.
The Storm picked up a 72-60 win at Bloomer Sullivan Arena early in the conference schedule in December.
Bailey Welch turned in 14 points and seven assists in the first meeting, while Ronay English and Emily Williams each added double-digits off the bench.
SE shot 47.9 percent in the game while holding the Bisons to a 33.9 percent shooting night.
In the rematch in Searcy, Ark., HU pulled away late in the second half to pick up an 83-69 win.
Cheree Kiser paced the SE offense in that outing with 15 points on the strength of three three-pointers in her first start.
Welch and Natalie Ruud each added 14 points in the contest, while Haley Schaefer chipped in 11.
Welch is averaging 13.1 ppg on the year and is dishing out 4.5 assists per contest.
Schaefer is right behind at 10.3 ppg, while a trio of players sit just outside of the double-digit mark at 9.6, 9.2 and 9.2, respectively.
Schaefer leads the way on the glass with 6.3 rebounds per game.
