Southeastern will be looking to mount a winning streak when it heads to Ada, Okla., to open a two-game road trip with a rivalry renewing contest against East Central on Jan. 24 at 7:30 p.m..
That game will be followed up by a 4 p.m. matchup on Jan. 26 against Arkansas Tech in Russellville, Ark.
The Savage Storm picked up an 82-78 win over Southern Nazarene in its last outing to move into a tie for second in the Great American Conference standings at 6-3 and just one game behind league-leading Harding. The win over SNU also pushed SE's record to 10-5 overall.
Chris Roussell turned in 21 points in the win over SNU and he also leads the team with 16.3 ppg. He is joined by Steven Kohli and Mateus Oliveira in double-figures with 12.3 and 10.4 ppg, respectively.
Travis Timmons has guided the offense on the year and is leading the GAC in assists with 6.9 assists per outing.
Roussell is also leading the team in rebounds at 7.5 rpg, while Oliveira is right behind at 7.1 per contest.
ECU enters the contest on Thursday with a 5-10 record and a 2-7 mark in league play.
Colby Carr leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 13.9 ppg and 8.1 rebounds per outing.
Chris Fisher, Carr and Marquis Walters have each dished out 30 or more assists on the year.
Saturday's matchup with ATU will be a rematch of a 62-47 SE win on Dec. 6, with the Wonder Boys coming into the weekend with a 9-6 record overall and a 6-3 mark in league play as part of the three-way tie for second place with the Storm.
James Harris came off the bench with 25 points to help Southeastern to a win in the first meeting, while Oliveira turned in a 10 rebound performance.
ATU has a trio of double-digit scorers led by Willie Kirkland who is averaging 12.7 ppg, while Will Paul is at 11.9 ppg and Jared Williamson checks in at 10.5 per game.
Williamson also leads the club in assists with 2.9 apg, while Kirkland, Paul and Charles Mells each average five-or-more rebounds per game.
