SOSU Baseball Downs CU, 6-3

Seven different Southeastern players combined to collect 12 hits en route to a 6-3 win over Cameron on Tuesday afternoon in Lawton, Okla.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 20-17 on the season and wraps up the out-of-conference road trips for the year.

SE was paced by a 3-for-4 outing from Evan Ramsey as he racked up a pair of doubles, an RBI and two runs scored.

Chevis Springer, Tucker Alexander and Vance Woodruff each added two hits outing, while Springer, Ramsey, Woodruff and Nick Grimmett collected an RBI each.

Levi Lewis got his first start of the season on the hill and tossed three inning in which he allowed two runs on three hits with two strikeouts.

He was relieved by Brandon Marris who tossed the next two innings and allowed just two hits while striking out one.

Woodruff then came on from his DH spot and threw two innings as well, allowing an unearned run on no hits with a walk and three K's.

Cameron Mann came on to pick up his eighth save of the season with two innings of scoreless, hitless work while striking out two.

CU opened up the first lead in the contest with a pair of RBI singles in the third inning.

Grimmett provided the first Southeastern answer with an RBI single in the top of the fourth that scored Ramsey.

A Springer single in the fifth would knot the game at 2-2 as Trevor Bowen came home on the play.

A Woodruff single in the sixth inning would give SE its first lead of the contest as Ramsey scored for a second time.

A wild pitch in the bottom of the sixth, however, would knot the game at 3-3.

Ramsey would respond in the top of the seventh to put the Storm in front for good with a double that plated Alexander.

Then in the ninth, Springer would come home on a balk by the CU pitcher and Alexander would come home on a double steal thanks to an error by the catcher to make the final 6-3.
