SOSU Softball Ready for UAM Road Trip

Southeastern softball will take to the road for the first time since March 8 when it heads to Monticello, Ark., April 4-5 for a four-game series against Arkansas-Monticello. Friday's games are set for a 1 p.m. start, with Saturday's double-header slated for an 12 p.m. start.

The Savage Storm enter the weekend with a 23-10 record overall and a 16-6 mark in Great American Conference play. That conference mark is good for a one game lead in the league standings over Northwestern Oklahoma State.

SE is paced on the year on offense by a trio of hitters posting averages over .400.

That group is led by Sydney Kramer who is hitting .422 on the season with 12 doubles and a team-high 31 RBI.

Laramie Beal is second with a .409 average, but leads the team in home runs with eight and has 28 RBI on the season.

Jessica Simmons is right behind with a .406 average and has scored a team-best 32 runs and stolen 23 bases.

Mindy McElroy paces the Storm pitching staff with a 12-4 record and a 1.97 ERA. She has turned in three shutouts in eight complete games with a pair of saves while holding opponents to a .257 average.

UAM comes into the weekend with a 22-17 record overall and a 13-13 mark in GAC play, fresh off a 2-2 split against East Central in its most recent series.

The Cotton Blossoms are led on offense by Kali Piha who is hitting .415 on the season with eight home runs and 35 RBI.

In the circle, UAM's Courtney Wilson carries a team low 3.01 ERA with a 10-6 record, while Katie Slaughter is 11-9 on the year with a 3.42 ERA.
