Southeastern head cross country coach Ron Hair has announced the addition of Kaitlyn Mendoza who has signed her national letter of intent to run for the Savage Storm.
"I feel Kaitlyn will greatly add to the foundation that our runners established this past season," said Hair. "She comes from a solid program that Coach Daus has created at Saginaw Boswell and has produced very successful runners that are currently competing in both the Great American and Lone Star conferences.
"Her times reflect not only a good high school career," Hair continued, "But the potential to succeed at our level of competition. We are pleased to welcome her as a member of Southeastern Women's Cross Country team."
Mendoza is a regional qualifier in both cross country and track events, finishing as high as fourth at regionals.
She finishes her high school career with a best 5K time of 19:43, and has run a 5:33 mile and a 12:18 two-mile.
SE cross country experienced a resurgence in 2013, posting a third-place finish at the Great American Conference championship with a pair of all-conference honorees.
