For the second-straight season, East Central University senior Stirling Thomas has been named to the D2 Conference Commissioner's Men's Basketball All-Central Region Second Team.
Thomas was one of three players to earn all-region honors from the Great American Conference, with all three landing on the second team.
The Elgin, Okla., native has also already earned unanimous All-GAC First Team and GAC All-Tournament Team honors for 2015-16. Thomas led the Tigers and the league with 19.5 points per game, while adding 2.7 rebounds.
Thomas shot .434 from the floor and .366 from three-point range and added a team high 81 assists, 18 steals and six blocks.
With his 585 points in 2015-16 and 599 as a junior, Thomas became the 17th member of the ECU 1,000 Point Club and is currently ranked 11th on the list of top-point scorers for the Tigers. Thomas (1,184) is just the third member of the club that played just two seasons for ECU, joining Winfred Newsome (1,095) and Jason Thomas (1,008).
