The Trenton Tigers were knocked out of the playoffs on Thursday night, while the North Lamar Panthers face elimination on Friday.
Trenton lost a one game, winner take all series with Dawson, 3-0. The Tigers got a strong pitching performance by Bailey Burks, but the Bulldogs scored 3 runs in the 6th to win and advance to state.
Trenton was attempting to make it back to state after qualifying last season, but came just one game short.
North Lamar fell behind early in their series opener against Argyle on Thursday, and were never able to close the gap in a 15-3 opening loss.
Argyle scored all 15 of their runs in the first 3 innings of the contest.
The Panthers hope to use the home field to even the series. They will host Argyle at 8:00 pm on Friday. Game 3, if necessary, is scheduled for Saturday at McKinney Boyd High School.
