SOSU Women's Hoops Set for Key Road Trip

Southeastern will set out on a two-game road swing first looking to avenge a home loss to Northwestern Oklahoma State and then looking to provide some separation in the standings between the Savage Storm and Southwestern Oklahoma State.

SE first faces NWOSU at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 13 and follows with a Feb. 15 matchup against SWOSU at 2 p.m.

The Storm are coming off just their second home loss of the season, but are still tied with the Bulldogs for third in the Great American Conference standings.

Southeastern enters the weekend with a 12-8 record overall and a 9-5 mark in league play which put the one-half game back of East Central for second and four games behind No. 6 Harding who leads the league.

SE is leaning heavily on Emily Williams and Haley Schaefer in the absence of Breana Small-Peppers who has missed the last seven games due to injury.

Williams has pushed her scoring average to 14.8 ppg and is shooting 43.8 percent from behind the three-point line. In her last outing, she was held to 11 points which snapped a streak of four-straight 20-poiont performances that included a season-best 29 against Ouachita Baptist. On the year she has put together seven 20-point games.

Schaefer is averaging 10.9 ppg, while Williams and Schaefer each also lead the way on the boards with 7.0 and 6.9 rpg, respectively.

NWOSU enters the contest with a 5-15 record overall and a 5-9 mark in league play, but did pick up a 45-42 win over SE in the first meeting between the teams which was also the first home loss for the Storm.

The Rangers are paced by Kamera Bozeman who is averaging 9.9 ppg on the season, but 11.3 per game in GAC play.

She also paces the club in rebounds, while Dierra Gilmore is dishing out a team-high 2.9 assists per contest.

The Bulldogs enter the weekend with a 12-8 record on the season and a 9-5 tally in GAC action. Southeastern won the first meeting in Dur4ant by an 87-78 margin.

Michelle Fisher leads a trio of double-digit scorers with 17.4 ppg, while Taryn Sayama and Sarina Sayama are averaging 12.9 and 11.5 ppg, respectively.
