Lipsey Leaves Whitewright

The Whitewright Tigers are looking for a new head football coach. Chuck Lipsey has accepted the head coaching job at Bangs High School.

Lipsey helped lift the Whitewright football program to elite status in Texas 2A football. In his five years at the helm, the Tigers were regulars in the high school football playoffs. Lipsey never missed the playoffs while at Whitewright, and only once failed to win the district title.

He heads to Bangs, near the area he grew up. Bangs has a tradition rich football program as well. "This is one of the hardest decisions we've ever had to make," Lipsey said. "Everyone in Whitewright has been great, and this was a really hard decision."

Whitewright will now begin a coaching search, in what has now become a very high profile job in North Texas.

Lipsey seems like a solid coach. I wish him well at Bangs.
