Two S&S Softball Players Suspended for Game 1

5-22-08 - An incident in the regional semifinals could jeopardize the S&S Lady Rams chances of reaching the state tournament. S&S will play tonight's game against Aubrey without two of their best players.

According to KXII sources, pitcher Angela White and catcher Nikki Jones have been suspended for tonight's game after the incident in the regional semifinals. After getting several questionable calls in game two of that series, White allegedly threw a pitch that was intended to hit the umpire, and the catcher made little effort to stop it. After being hit by the pitch, the umpire ejected both players.

Both players are expected to be available for game two on Saturday. S&S Superintedent Robert Steeber would only say, "to protect our players and school, I have no comment."

After reading the many comments about the S&S softball team I have this to say. Not all umpires are above reproach. There are some that do not have regard for the kids nor anyone. I personally know that some gamble and keep the score down or up in to win wagers. Others do it because they harbor a grudge from some past incident. These people need to be removed from any umpire affiliation with schools. Let the players play the game.

Class oh yeah Aubrey has class, they had a group of fans at the warm up area Thursday verbally harassing the S&S players. I'm not talking just razzing them I'm talking filth. The girls were punished for their actions what more do you people want the death penalty!

The only thing wrong with Angela is that she is a college level pitcher playing in "warm and fuzzy" High School Hell. And for those of you that are so unbelievably offended by her aggressive softball style, why don't you check out your kids MY SPACE, or text messages, or better yet follow them tonight when they are going to spend the night w/Billy or Bobbie Sue and see who's buying the alcohol.

I am just so sick of hearing negative things about the aweful situation. You need to keep your opinions to yourself and stop being so jealous of these girls. They deserve very high respect - THEY HAVE WORKED VERY HARD TO GET THIS FAR AND DESERVE PRAISE FOR THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS !!!!! - Leave them alone and let them -PLAY THEIR GAME - Win or Lose they need to keep their heads high and remember that they will be respected and praised for years. Once these girls reach STATE then we will see what all of you jerks have to say !!!!

Anonymous on May 23, 2008 at 05:47 AM, can't you read? There was a story here on KXII about what happened and that the team had to overcome some questionable calls from the ump. And yes, I know what I'm talking about!

Thats ridiculous! They have NO class. Being a high school softball player I have absolutely no respect for them. There's no way they can get passed Aubrey! I hope Aubrey annhialates! What goes around comes around and Im glad to finally see White's getting what she deserves.

I know these kids and they are not malicious as a matter of fact the pitcher shakes all umpires hands after games win or lose...I have seen it every game she is very respectful and polite she obviously has a love for the game one bad incident does not make a bad kid. This school should have supported their athletes better. instead of allowing it to get that far. I have also seen her in select games and never malicious..

dear anonymous on may 23 at 5:47 am why dont you put your name if you feel so strongly about what happened so that people will know what you stand for you should be proud enough to sign unless you are scared or maybe you know that the only people you are hurting are the kids and they are not really important to you you just want to make a statement or maybe your team was beat in district!!! huh makes one curious.
