S&S Softball announces new head coach

6-27-08 -- Last season S&S Head Softball Coach Jason Inman led the Lady Rams to a record of 30-5 and their best playoff run in school history, making it to the 2A State Semi-Finals.

Now the Rams are working to repeat their success this coming season, but they’ll have to do it without Inman. Last week, he took a head coaching position at Class A, McCamey High School which is near his hometown of Iraan.

S&S recently hired Darsey Hahn to serve as an assistant coach for the Lady Rams. After Inman’s departure, Hahn took over the softball program. Athletic Director Ashby Porter officially made the announcement today.

Hahn is entering her 10th year of coaching. She spent three years each at Collinsville, Celina and Tioga. During those years, she has had plenty of success. Hahn has racked up 130 wins in her career with trips to state on three different occasions. In 2002 she earned AFLAC Assistant Coach of the Year for all of Texas.

Hahn lives in Whitesboro and will also coach as an assistant on the volleyball team.

The Lady Rams are returning all but one player from last year’s State semi-final team.

This is Audra Edwards. First let me begin by saying that I have never posted anything on this website or others websites concerning Coach Porter or this situation. However, I seemed to get blamed for anything negative that is said about the current administration. Claude, I guess you can not attack my husband ‘s integrity so you feel you can justify how he was treated by attacking my character. I am extremely hurt by your lies. I wish that you men would understand the hurt your attacks bring to our family. I think all would agree that our family has been put through enough this past year. Claude, I am not a snake with venom coming from my lips. I did not post anything!!!! I am a mother of three broken hearted children that our being uprooted from their friends, teammates and their school. I am a mother that has held her child in her arms as they cried their self to sleep because they didn’t understand what Daddy had done wrong. I am a wife that has watched her husband go through the most difficult time in his career. I am a wife who has watched her husband wounded from being. stabbed in the back by people that he thought were his friends. I am a coach’s wife that wonders if trying to make a difference in athlete’s lives is really worth all the dissapointment and meanness that comes with it. I am a Christian, that struggles with trying to understand God’s purpose in all this heartache. I am a Christian that wonders if I will be able to forgive people like you. I am not a snake. How DARE YOU !

Annon from Sadler: How do you know for a fact one of the starters won't be returning and is moving out of the district?

Claude I believe you to have your facts wrong. I "Cody Carlisle" am a certified teacher and have been for quite sometime. It really irrates me that a rumor like that has went around. I was not done correctly at S&S and I will leave it at that. I don't go around the community promoting that but that is the truth. I have moved on and am now the Head basketball and softball coach at Blue Ridge H.S. And yes I am certified.

The First Amendment is great. It allows us to speak up. Unfortunately it also allows distortions and untruths to be spreed. By looking at three anonymous and the inside looking out, I see that Ms. Edwards is spewing her venom again. Lady after 13 years as head coach with 3 wins per season, all that left to say is he is a great guy and loves the kids. A 9-1 season means that you need 2 0-10 to average the 3 Hahn was hired as the womens track coach & asst. softball coach. The track coach apparently didn't attend her own practices and reportedly was replaced by the jr. high coach in mid-March. The asst. softball coach was not certified to teach and apparently not trying for certification. That doesn't make him a bad guy - just not qualified. One asst coach with Celina background a porblem. Hey I'd look at Celina, South Lake Carroll, Eu Trinity, Denton Ryan also. Inman was planning camp & quit 2 days prior PARENTS TAKE HEED/BE POSITIVE & SUPPORTIVE & YOUR KIDS WILL BENEFIT.

If you are on the inside looking out and feel insecure with your job at S&S, it is most likely because you know deep down that your past efforts, ability, or results are simply insuffecient. S&S has some of the greatest teachers around. Those people are the ones who are excited about the happenings they see. S&S also has a FEW good coaches. They are safe there. Unfortunately, they have been in the minority. I challenge anyone to ask a few of the softball players and/or their parents to give you an assesment of the coaching they have had for the last year or two. The answer to that will tell you that regardless of the reason for the coaching change, it is the best thing for those players. It doesn't take a trained eye to see that the new AD is establishing a real athletic program. It is no supprise to me that given the lack of one for so long, there is a lot of complaining and resistance to the changes. The good news is, with every personnel change, S&S is improving.

Bunch of whining if you ask me. Change is happening out at S&S and you may not think it but it's for the best. Those girls coached themselves to a state title, and the athletic program well there just wasn't one. People need to realize that you want people you can trust and has the same thought process as you do. That's what Coach Porter has done he is starting something, and it's called an Athletic Program. I can't wait to see what Porter does with his people, and in my eyes that's the way it should be. Watch out S&S because your going to get an Athletic program whether you like it or not. Give Porter just as long as you gave Edwards and see if the reults are the same, worst or better. Wait and see!

I saw a red flag on this program when the new supt. came into town and fired Billy Edwards. He won every game on his schedule that he should've won and then some. Nobody's job is safe at S&S.

This is true in life, anytime you have something going great there is always an idiot that will screw it up for everyone!

Coach Inman has been blessed in a way he will only know when he leaves S & S. He's at the top of his game and would be stuck in a miserable place if he stayed at S & S. Looking from the inside out, S & S is one of the scariest places to be right now. Way too many changes happening too fast. No consideration is being given to those who have dedicated their lives to educating the students of this district. We feel like we are in a no win situation. Moral is down and sinking lower and lower every time someone else is reassigned!!! TAKE HEED PARENTS THIS WILL EVENTUALLY AFFECT YOUR CHILDREN!!!
