COOKE COUNTY, TX ― The medical examiner is calling the death of a man in a fire near Gainesville last weekend suspicious.
Barry Pruitt, 33, died inside his home in the early morning hours of January 10th.
His body was sent to the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office, who described the death as “suspicious.”
Cooke County Sheriff Mike Compton tells us that the Texas Rangers have been called in to further investigate Pruitt’s death.
Compton says that evidence removed from the house is now in the hands of the North Texas Arson Investigators Unit.
