DENISON, TX -- A limited number of general admission tickets to the annual shootout between the Denison Yellow Jackets and the Sherman Bearcats will go on sale Monday morning, for purchase by Denison football fans only.

“We’ll begin selling the tickets to Denison fans on a first-come, first-served basis promptly at 8 a.m. Monday, November 2nd,” said DISD Superintendent Dr. Henry Scott.

“There will be a limit of four adult tickets per person, with pre-purchase ticket prices set at $6 for adults and $4 for students. All tickets purchased at the gate will be $7.”

Scott said the number of general admission tickets available at the gate, for both home and visiting adults, will depend on the number of student tickets sold at each school.

“Since these tickets are all General Admission, fans should keep in mind that it is important to arrive at the game early in order to find a seat,” said Scott.

“Once the stadium is at capacity, no more tickets will be sold.”

Kickoff for the annual rivalry is set for 7:30 p.m. on November 6 at Munson Stadium in Denison.

UPDATE: Sherman ISD officials say tickets will be sold starting at 8 a.m. Saturday at the ticket booth on the east side of Bearcat Stadium. Prices are $7 for reserved, and $6 for general admission, limit four per person.

Student tickets will be sold tomorrow at Sherman High School to high school students only.

But isn't it true that Denison doesn't allot all of the visitor side to actual visitors? Theu reserve a good portion to their students. Sherman students sit on the home side, why doesn't Denison students?

I have to agree that I would much rather live in Sherman than Denison, but I would have to take the school system with me. The kids are great and this team is going to take the "AXE" 70-35 Yellowjackets Win!!!!

Hey, LOL, The reason that Sherman gets bussinees is that Sherman gives tax writeoffs to do so. Back to football, Denison with a win will have won 6 of 7. Looks to me that Sherman would love to be like Denison. The Axe stays home, Denison is too much for Sherman..Maybe next year.. Ex Shermanite
