DURANT, OK - The Durant Independent School District has finally reached an agreement with athletic director Drew Young that will allow the two sides to part ways and move on.

Young officially turned in his resignation at the school board meeting Monday night and will be on paid administrative leave for the remainder of the school year, but Young will not be paid for next year.

Young says the board actually only recommended his contract to be renewed for the 2010-11 school year, and that they did not officially approve the renewal.

Young says that the official reason given was over 3 eligibility cases. Durant ISD has repeatedly denied comment on the matter, citing they would not publicly discuss personnel matters.
