The Ardmore Tigers named their next football coach at the school board meeting Tuesday night.
The Tigers hired Douglas Wendel from Eustace, Texas, where he served as head coach and athletic director. In the span of four years, Wendel oversaw a program that claimed 15 district championships in various sports, while making three straight trips to the state playoffs.
He also coached at Lake Highlands High School as a running backs coach.
