Tye McKinney pitched a five-inning complete game and had three RBIs to lead Blue Ridge to an 11-1 run-rule victory against Overton in the Class 1A state baseball semifinals Wednesday.
McKinney struck out seven and had a key double that broke a 1-1
tie in the fourth inning, sending Blue Ridge (29-5-1) to Thursday's
championship game.
Bradley White had three hits and two RBIs for Blue Ridge.
Overton (28-9) went ahead 1-0 in the second when Spencer Wright
tripled to right field and scored on a single by Trent Carpenter.
