Durant, Plainview lead big day for Texoma teams at State

Four Texoma teams advanced to the state semifinals with wins in the opening round of the state baseball tournament.

The Durant Lions beat Guthrie, 8-2 to advance to take on Claremore on Friday. The Lions broke open a close game in the 6th inning when Keaton Webb hit a bases loaded double to push Durant into the semifinals. The Lions will face Claremore at Union High School on Friday at 4pm.

The Plainview Indians continued the success of the Texoma area teams by out-scoring Salina 9-8. Plainview advances to play Verdigris on Friday morning in Shawnee at 11am.

Silo and Tushka continue their collision course by winning in the 2A bracket. Silo beat Hennessey in nine innings, 6-5. Tushka moved past Ketchum with a 5-4 win. Silo and Tushka will play a doubleheader at Dolese Park on Friday. Tushka will face Dale at 4pm. Silo takes on Wister at 6:30pm.
