Four Sign Across Texoma

Wednesday may have been National Signing Day for football, but Texoma athletes of several sports have inked their letters of intent this week.

Out at Whitesboro, Grant Butts is heading to Northwestern State University in Louisiana to run cross country. He was big part of the Bearcat team who went to state this year, and hopes to major in computer science.

At Van Alstnye, cross country runner Evan McQuirk signed on the dotted line with Oklahoma Christian. He was a state champion on the Panthers cross country team this year, and is looking forward to getting a crack at running in at the next level.

North of the Red River, Plainview's Jessica Woods is headed to Arkansas City in Kansas to run cross country for Cowley County Community College. Woods has been a part of four cross country state titles and two track and field state titles.

And in Gainesville, Whytneigh Duffie is going to St. Edwards in Austin to continue her soccer career. She's been a standout for the Leopards, and hopes to make a difference for the Hilltoppers.
