Leonard, Cooper Prepare for Quarterfinal Matchup

The Leonard Tigers and Cooper Bulldogs would love to keep making history.

Both teams have done plenty of that so far this season, making it to the state quarterfinals for the first time in team history.

Cooper enters the contest with a perfect 13-0 record, while Leonard is 10-3. Both teams are excited about a possible berth in the state semifinals.

"It's a great feeling, and that is a goal that we had earlier this year," said Cooper head coach Ronnie Green.

And Leonard thinks they've hit their stride.

"I think we're probably playing the best football of the season right now," said Leonard head coach Shane Fletcher.

The two teams will play in Wylie this Saturday at 2 p.m., weather permitting.
