It was a banner day at Sam Rayburn High School, five of their softball players signed to play collegiality . All five were key pieces in a Sam Rayburn Lady Rebels squad who lost in last years Class A state championship.
Ali Wiechman, Cassidy Hall, Jaiden Pelton, Alaina Kissinger and Maddie Dow, have all played softball together since their elementary years and a couple of the players went as far as to transfer to Sam Rayburn so they could continue to play together. Wiechman, a center fielder, is taking her talents to Eastern Oklahoma State College, with plans to eventually transfer to Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
Meanwhile pitcher Cassidy Hall and catcher Jaiden Pelton will stay together, they're both going to play in Gainesville at North Central Texas College. Infielder Maddie Dow signed with Southern Arkansas, while pitcher Alaina Kissinger will play at Paris Junior college next year.
These girls and the rest of the Lady Rebels will begin their quest to return to the state championship in just a few weeks.
