After missing the postseason last year, the Tishomingo Indians are excited to get back on the field.
"It's been a long off-season, we put in a lot of time, the kids have really dedicated themselves to trying to get better daily, which was really exciting for the coaching staff. By the end of the summer we were frothing at the bit to get out on the field," said head coach Nic Claborn.
The Indians went two and eight in coach Claborn's first year, but were in the playoff hunt until the end of the season. And with many starters returning, they're excited about this season.
"It puts a lot of confidence in our offense. As far as offense I believe we have 6 or seven starters coming back and I believe were going to be pretty good this year," said quarterback Zac Floyd.
As far as the goal the Indians are setting, they're trying not to get too caught up on one thing.
"I truly believe you get too enamored on the idea of being a playoff team or having a home playoff game, then you start forgetting that the little things," said Claborn.
But that doesn't mean they aren't hoping to play in late November.
"We want to make it to at least second third round of district. We've been putting in a lot of work so we expect a lot more out of it," said nose guard Brady Wood.
