Pittman leads Horns past Baylor

Dexter Pittman scored 16 points, sending Texas to a 73-57 win over Baylor on Monday night, the Longhorns’ 24th straight win over the Bears.

A.J. Abrams and Justin Mason each scored 14 points for the Longhorns (20-9, 9-6 Big 12), who haven’t lost to Baylor since the 1997-98 season, the last before coach Rick Barnes took over the Texas program. The win also guaranteed Texas a winning record in the Big 12, solidifying their position for an at-large berth to the NCAA tournament.

LaceDarius Dunn scored 15 points for the Bears (17-12, 5-10), who have been in a free-fall the season after making the NCAA tournament for the first time in 20 years. Baylor lost its sixth straight Big 12 road game and has lost 9 of its last 11 games overall.
