OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - For the second straight year, Oklahoma City
general manager Sam Presti has used a late first-round pick on a player in the European league.
The Thunder used the 25th overall pick in Thursday night's draft on point guard Rodrigue Beaubois from Guadeloupe. He has been playing in the French Pro A league the past three years after being discovered by NBA player Mickael Pietrus, who is from the same Caribbean island.
Last year, Presti picked Serge Ibaka from the Congo at No. 24 overall. He has continued to play in the same Spanish league he was in at the time of last year's draft.
With their other first-round pick this year, the Thunder took high-scoring guard James Harden from Arizona State at No. 3 overall.
