Rangers avoid sweep, beat Angels

Chris Davis homered and drove in three runs, Julio Borbon triggered a six-run sixth inning with a go-ahead RBI single and the Texas Rangers beat the playoff-bound Los Angeles Angels 11-3 on Thursday night.
Kevin Millwood (13-10) recorded his third complete game of the
season and 20th in 375 career starts, giving up two earned runs and
seven hits in his season finale and tying a season high with 10
strikeouts. He threw a season-high 122 pitches.
The Angels, who completed their home schedule with a 49-32
record, moved the starting time of this game up to 3 p.m. so that
they could squeeze in a postgame rally for their fans inside the
ballpark before heading to Oakland for a three-game series that
closes out the regular schedule.
