Texas 2A to split, championship games to change

State championship football games will have predetermined sites in all Texas high school classifications starting next year.
The University Interscholastic League's Legislative Council
voted Monday to have fixed sites in classes 1A through 4A. The
state's largest classification, 5A, is in the third year of having
both title games at the same site.
Below 5A, coaches still determine championship game sites either
by mutual agreement or a coin flip.
UIL officials say they haven't decided whether games will be
played at the same site.
Also starting next year, Class 2A will be split into
large-school and small-school divisions before the season starts.
Currently, that process takes place before the playoffs.

I'M VERY AWARE OF THAT! IT IS TO MY UNDERSTANDING THAT A FEW BOARD MEMBERS ON THE UIL WANT TO HAVE TWO FOR EACH GROUP IN THE SPLIT TWO FROM THE TOP HALF AND TWO FROM THE BOTTOM HALF. THAT IS ALL I WAS REFERING TOO! UIL MAKES GATE MONEY IN THE PLAYOFFS AS YOU ARE AWARE AND THAT WOULD BE MORE INCOME. TO BE HONEST I WISH THEY HAD ONE STATE CHAMPION FOR EACH CLASSIFICATION. UIL NEEDS TO GO AHEAD AND PRESENT A 6A CLASS.

Actually no classification awards four state champions. Only two...big school, small school. Make sure you know what you are talking about before you open your mouth and prove you ignorance.

I hope that they are not going to award Four state champions in class 2A! My word give everyone a state ring.

If I have the numbers right, Gunter will head to the smaller 2A next year. They will dominate.
