Craig Stinson hits a grand slam in the
third inning on today to lift Texas A&M past Texas 7-3 in a
pool-play game in the Big 12 Conference baseball tournament.
Both teams are now 1-1 in the tournament and have one game
remaining in pool play, on Saturday.
Jordan Danks and Chance Wheeless hit run-scoring singles for
Texas in the top of the third to put the Longhorns ahead 2-1,
but the Aggies responded with five runs in the bottom of the
Brandon Hicks drove in the first run when he was hit by a pitch
from James Russell with the bases loaded.
With two outs, Stinson homered over the left-field wall, his
11th home run of the season.
Texas A&M starter Kirkland Rivers moved to 2-3, allowing
seven hits and five walks while striking out three batters in
6 2/3 innings.
