Harrison's health bigger key for Rangers now

Texas Rangers left-hander Matt Harrison says he is feeling better every day.

Having Harrison healthy to start the season is even more important now for the Rangers with Derek Holland hurt.

Harrison played long toss Tuesday, a day after his latest bullpen session. Pitching coach Mike Maddux says Harrison was "free and easy" and bending his back during the 35-minute bullpen session.

After winning 18 games in 2012, Harrison was the opening day starter last season. But he made only two starts before having two operations on a herniated disk in his lower back.

Holland is expected to be out until at least midseason after injuring his left knee. The left-hander got hurt after being tripped by his dog on the stairs at his home.
