Mayo, new Mavs shooting straight waiting for Dirk

O.J. Mayo and the rest of the Dallas Mavericks newcomers don't always know exactly what they're going to do next. But they're getting into quite a groove while waiting for Dirk Nowitzki.

Dallas has shot better than 60 percent from the field in consecutive games for the first time in franchise history, in the first two games for Mayo and eight other first-time Mavericks.

Mayo, who has had consecutive 30-point games, best describes the Mavericks offense as organized street ball.

Dallas will play at home Wednesday against Toronto without Nowitzki and Shawn Marion. They are the only players left who were also on the floor for Dallas' only NBA title two seasons ago.

Nowitzki is recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery and Marion sprained a knee ligament Monday night.
