Matt Griffin is the News Director for KXII-TV. He was previously the News Assignments Manager and Web Content Supervisor for KXII-TV. A Denison native, Matt has called Texoma home for most of his life.
Matt joined the First News Team in January 2007 as Web Content Supervisor after working for The Austin American-Statesman while he attended the University of Texas at Austin. Matt also wrote for the UT student newspaper, The Daily Texan. Upon graduation, Matt left Austin and the newspaper business behind to pursue a career in broadcast.
As Web Content Supervisor for KXII-TV's web channel, KXII.com earned a prestigious Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters Award for Small Market Television Website in 2008. Later that year, Matt was promoted to Assignments Manager at KXII-TV, where he's worked to bring the stories that matter to Texomans into their homes each night. In March 2012, Matt was promoted to News Director.
A Denison High School and University of Texas graduate, Matt lives in Sherman with his fiancée, Geri. Matt is an avid Longhorns, Rangers, and Mavericks fan.
