Morgan Downing joined the KXII News Team in May of 2012. She comes to Sherman from the Sooner state.
A native Oklahoman, Morgan graduated from the University of Oklahoma, earning a bachelor of arts degree in journalism and a minor in criminology. Throughout her college career, Morgan was a reporter, anchor and producer for “OU Nightly”, the five-day newscast. She also interned with KOCO Eyewitness News 5, the ABC affiliate in Oklahoma City, and was a reporter intern for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Morgan enjoys giving back to the community. She volunteers with the Oklahoma Blood Institute and animal rescue shelters. Being a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority, promoting literacy among children and supporting First Book and Champions are Readers are important to her. In her free time, you can find Morgan running, cooking, shopping, spending time with her family and friends and cheering on the OU Sooners and the Thunder. She is also an avid animal lover and can’t wait to move into a place big enough for a dog.
