Scott McLinden joined the News 12 Team in September of 2012 as news anchor. He’s delighted to be in Texoma and return to Texas after years away from the Lone Star State.
Born in Utica, New York, and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Scott was anxious to get a break from the subzero winters, so he traveled to Texas for college and became a TCU Horned Frog. In his professional broadcasting career, he has served as news anchor for KUMV-TV in North Dakota and KEPR-TV in Washington State, hosted the morning show for KDLH-TV in Duluth, Minnesota, and reported for KSTP-TV in Minneapolis.
Outside of broadcasting, Scott has served as Senior Vice President of Public Finance for a Wall Street investment banking firm, and also holds Masters Degrees in Government (MGA) and Business (MBA) from the University of Pennsylvania and Arizona State University.
When not covering the news, Scott enjoys working out and spending as much time as possible with his wife, son and their rescue dogs at their home in Sherman. He’s also a sports nut and huge fan of the Horned Frogs, ASU Sundevils, and West Virginia Mountaineers (father’s side of the family are all proud West Virginians!). This will now certainly lead to arguments at future holiday gatherings, since Scott's wife is from Oklahoma and his in-laws are devoted Sooners. Go Big 12!
