Matthew graduated in December 2012 from Texas State University with a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. While in school, he interned with KGNB-AM, ESPN Radio for Texas State football games and NewBraunfelsSports.com.

In his spare time, Matthew enjoys watching and playing sports, scuba diving, and playing with his dog, Cooper. He is a huge fan of the Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys.
