Hello my name is Daniel Armbruster. I am a co-anchor on First News A.M. and I report daily on First News at Noon.

My career at KXII began in October 2008. I started out as a general assignment reporter in the Ardmore newsroom. While in Ardmore, I covered several stories that impacted communities throughout the southern Oklahoma region. Some of those stories include the deadly tornadoes that struck Carter County in February 2009 and the turmoil that caused the resignation of several Ardmore city leaders. In July 2009, I was reassigned to Weekend Anchor/Reporter in the Sherman newsroom. In February 2010, I joined the First News A.M. team with Rita Kotey and Tom Miller. It is an honor to help Texomans get their day started every morning and this is something I truly enjoy.

My career in broadcast news began more than a decade ago when I was in high school. My first job was at KXII's sister station, KWTX, in Waco, TX. I most recently worked at KTVT-TV in Dallas/Fort Worth as an editor before accepting my position at KXII.

I grew up in Lorena, TX. It’s a small town near Waco. I graduated from Lorena High School and attended McLennan Community College for two years. I then graduated Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Arlington with a BA in Communications and a minor in Political Science. While in school, I was an active member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society and in the Golden Key National Honors Society.

My hobbies include being in the great outdoors, exercising, eating my momma’s home cooking, eating bar-b-que, eating sea food...Okay, I like eating. I also like spending time with family and friends back home and following national and world headlines. I have one dog named Shelby. She is a mut and very loyal.
