Daniel is a news reporter and fill-in sports reporter for First News. He grew up in Texas, but graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois in June 2006 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism. While at Northwestern, he was Sports Director and lead sports anchor for the campus TV station. He covered all Northwestern sports, the Big Ten Conference and Chicago professional sports. As Sports Director, Daniel’s responsibilities included directing the activities of several staff members and overseeing the development of content for our sports segments. He also produced and directed larger scope projects such as a 30-minute documentary on the 1995 Northwestern Wildcat Rose Bowl football team. The show brought Northwestern and Illinois News Broadcasters award for Outstanding Soft Television Program. Daniel was born in Chicago, but moved to Texas in 1992 and has called the state home ever since. However, when it comes to sports, old allegiances die-hard. He is a huge fan of the World Champion Chicago White Sox. Daniel is excited to begin his broadcast career at KXII and is looking forward to getting to know the people of North Texas.
