He's a native Texan, devoted husband, highly inquisitive journalist, and proud father...of two 'very' energetic pups!
Ryan Loyd anchors First News AM with Lisanne Anderson, and he actually likes getting up dark and early to do it! Ryan started with KXII-TV in January 2006.
Ryan graduated from Texas Lutheran University in Seguin and holds a degree in Communication Studies. Ryan has covered news on the radio and TV, working in Joplin, Missouri, New Braunfels, Texas, Seguin, San Antonio, and now Sherman!
Ryan is passionate about reporting. He's covered tough stories of families being left without homes after strong tornadoes in the Midwest; political stories such as when former vice-presidential candidate John Edwards toured the nation during the 2004 presidential race and when vice-president Dick Cheney campaigned at small town hall meetings; devastating stories like the evacuee effort brought on by Hurricane Katrina, and hopeful stories about the Patriot Guard Rider motorcycle group that attends soldiers' funerals to hold American flags quietly and respectively. From the President of the United States to the President of the local Chamber, there's no difference in how he tells the story – fairly and completely.
Ryan loves photography, microbreweries, food (Asian especially), his job and many more things too long to list here. Ryan and his wife, Sarah, make their home in Sherman with their dogs, Barker and Hailey.
