Megan Krannig is excited to rejoin KXII-TV as the New 12 Good Day Meteorologist. She began her career here in Texoma in June 2005. During Megan's tenure at KXII in Sherman for almost 4 years, she covered the summer flooding of 2007, spending several hours on air to keep her viewers informed. Plus the wildfires of 2006 that burned many acres in Oklahoma and North Texas and helped cover the 2006 Anna - Westminster tornado, Collinsville tornado of 2008 and 2009 Lone Grove tornado.
Megan took a year off from broadcast to work in the private sector in Houston for an Aviation/Weather Company providing pilots with online flight data all over the world, as well as online specialized weather briefings for clients. While in Houston, she gave weather briefings to oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico to inform them of strong winds and high seas and to companies in the Northeast about the historic snow storms of 2010.
Megan is a graduate of The University of Oklahoma (BOOMER SOONER!!!). She realized her passion for TV weather during her college internships at CBS 11 in Dallas and Eyewitness News 5 in Oklahoma City. In 2009, she was awarded the Certified Broadcast Meteorology (CBM) Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society.
Being born and raised in the Dallas area (Garland), this Texas girl loves country and western music, dancing, shopping, Dallas sporting events and warm weather activities. While in Houston, Megan volunteered with the SPCA finding the love of her life, a calico cat Mesoscale. Family and Fellowship are most important to her.
