Steve LaNore has served as KXII’s Chief Meteorologist since September 2006.
Steve’s most recent work before coming to Texoma was a six-year stint at the CBS affiliate in Austin, Texas.
Steve received “Best Weathercast” awards three times from the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters (OAB) in 2006, 2008 and 2009, and most recently from the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters (TAPB) for "Best Weathercast" in the state of Texas (Div. IV) in 2014.
LaNore is also an author; he was honored with three awards in 2013, including one from the National Federation of Press Women (NFPW) for his book "Weather Wits and Science Snickers". The book uses silly jokes to introduce children to cool science facts. He released his second work, "Twister Tales: Unraveling Tornado Myths" for a general adult audience in 2014. Both books are available on Amazon.
Steve is married to Gera LaNore, and has an adult stepson, Geraed (pronounced "Jared") a Pottsboro High graduate who now works in the video game industry.
