SHERMAN, Tex. -- A Sherman police officer is bringing some national experience back home. Captain Ken Francis recently graduated from the FBI National Academy.

The ten week training focuses on management courses, physical fitness, communication, forensics, and law. Law enforcement from all across the country and several foreign countries participated in the program in Quantico, Virginia.

Francis is the second Sherman police officer in recent years to participate in the program.

"I’ve had 27 years in law enforcement experience, but when you combine all the experience from 287 people, there's a lot of experience there. And I learned a lot from them, I learned a lot from the instructors. It's a great learning experience,” Captain Francis said.

Francis earned 17 credit hours, which was enough to complete his bachelor's degree and begin on his Master's.
