Credit card fraud in Carter Co.

CARTER COUNTY, Okla. -- Four people are in jail after authorities say they went on a shopping spree using stolen credit cards.

Ardmore Police say these people went to area stores in Ardmore and spent $7,000 on various electronics, from big screen TV’s to Sony Playstations.

Authorities say the group took old credit cards from trash cans, removed the magnetic strip from the back, and placed stolen credit card numbers on the front.

"They tried to use the cards three times in one night at Wal-Mart. The employees became suspicious. They did a really good job of notifying us. I can’t say enough about what the Wal-Mart employees did," said Lt. Eric Hamblin of the Ardmore Police Department.

All four suspects are from the Dallas area.
