Fallen Denison firefighter Phillip Townsend will be among 87 men and women nationally honored for their sacrifices. Townsend died from injuries he received fighting a fire at a Denison business December 30th, 2006. He was 31 years old.
He, along with first responders from 32 other states, will be recognized at the National Tribute on October 7th at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland. This will be the 26th annual national memorial service sponsored by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
