Ardmore agrees to upgrade PD

ARDMORE, Okla. -- The Ardmore Police Department will soon receive some new tools that will help them keep officers, and the public, safe.

Monday night, commissioners unanimously approved a $26,000 budget to buy new radios and equipment for the Ardmore Police Department.

An upgrade that officers say is long overdue.

Officers wiill get new radios that will work in unison with their new wireless laptops in their units.

Sixteen thousand dollars will come from a statewide grant, the other $10,000 is in the Mayor's tactical fund and is already available.
