Child's toy to blame for Sherman accident

SHERMAN, Tex. –A one-car accident shut down the 100 block of Walnut Street in Sherman for about an hour Wednesday morning. Authorities say Janie Lee Simmons, 22, lost control of her pick-up truck in the 100 block of Walnut after her child dropped a toy in the cab.

When she went to pick up the toy, she lost control of the truck, ran into a parked mustang, and then slammed into a wall.

Simmons was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries the child was not hurt.

    This is why you keep your eyes and mind on the road while driving. If you just HAVE to pick up that toy, pull over & stop to do so. This woman and her child got off very lucky this time- let's hope she learned her lesson.

    Thank goodness this was nothing serious. Hopefully people will realize how fast accidents can happen.
