SULPHUR, Okla. -- A Sulphur man spent Tuesday night behind bars after he pierced the tongues of several underage girls.

Bobbie Joe Smith was arrested after parents reported cases of teens getting their tongues pierced without permission.

Smith was taken into custody after Murray County Sheriff’s deputies searched his home and found tattooing equipment and marijuana.

He now faces several charges including unlawful piercing and tattooing without a license.

He could face up to 90 days in jail and a $5,000 fine.

He is out on a $500 bond and is set to appear in court again on October 24.
