ARDMORE, Okla. -- A big centennial celebration in Ardmore takes place Thursday night in Ardmore. The Goddard Center and the Oklahoma Centennial Commission held a dedication ceremony for the new Ardmore Sculpture Garden.
Construction started on the $300,000 garden about a year ago and was completed in September.
The Centennial Commission donated half of the fund for the project while the other half was donated by local organizations.
The Centennial Commission donated over $100,000 for the sculpture garden and Goddard officials feel it’s a great thing for Ardmore.
"We have received a lot of positive input from the community. This is a wonderful opportunity in our community," Goddard center director Maria Parrott said.
The director of the Oklahoma Centennial will be hosting a public event at the Goddard center to recognize the success of the local gallery.
