DICKSON, Okla. -- A local school is honored to be among the nation's elite. Dickson High School was one of six in the state, and one out of 287 nationally recognized schools to receive the U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon.

The Blue Ribbon is awarded for outstanding test scores and academic achievements.

Superintendent Sherry Howe says Dickson Schools are one of the least funded schools in the state and this award says a lot for those less fortunate school districts.

"Comet Pride starts inside, and we’re blue to the bone. We’re proud, and we don’t have a lot of resources other schools have," Howe said.

Man, I'm jealous of your schools... Sherman has no prestige, our students are missing out.
