ARDMORE, Okla. -- The Ardmore Police Department started their Christmas fundraising by delivering lunch to Ardmore city employees. The Ardmore Police Department held their annual ‘Shop with a Cop’ fund raiser selling barbecue sandwiches for lunch at City Hall.

‘Shop with a Cop’ is a special event for less fortunate children. Last year the police department had over 100 kids stroll the isles of Wal-Mart looking for Christmas presents.

This year the officers hope to have more donations and help more kids. ‘Shop with a Cop’ organizers say this is one of the best things you can do to help the children.

"You just have to think that without the organization when it comes time to go back to school, it’s nice to know that the kids can say right along with the rest. ‘Look what I got!’ It’s a really nice feeling," says organizer Melissa Woolly.

You can still make donations for the event. Just contact any Ardmore police officer or call City Hall. The event will take place the week before Christmas.
