TISHOMINGO, Okla. -- One person is dead and another is in serious condition after a fatal accident Monday afternoon in Tishomingo involving a motorcycle.

Police say around 3:30 Monday afternoon, a driver lost control of her truck when she hit a curb on the Pennington Creek Bridge in Tishomingo.

The driver then swerved into the opposite lane of traffic, broad siding a motorcyclist. Both vehicles then slid down a 20-foot embankment.

The motorcycle driver was pinned under the truck for several minutes and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver of the pickup is in critical condition.

the speed limit is 40 going around the curve to the bridge. no 80. as far as the curve they need a flashing light or more police to set there rather than to set at the western inn. odot put up a flashing lights at 32 and 70f after a motor cycle'st got killed thats what odot needs to do in tish. the speed limit isnt the problem its that the curve is a blind spot and no one can see whats comeing ahead or behind them. Most people dont stop at the Y because they can see most of the highway before they stop at the stop sign, and even then they dont always stop. PUT UP A FLASHING LIGHT AND PUT MORE POLICE ON PATROL IN THAT AREA INSTEAD OF PATROLING THE WESTERN INN.

How many people have to die before they do something about the speed limit on the Y intersection every year someone dies between the bridge and the end of the Y going towards Madill. Trucks northbound from Madill fly through that area.

That is a terrible accident. That is something that the other driver has to live with the rest of her life. I hope she makes it. God bless her family and the family of the motor cycle driver. It was just a freak accident

THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED SHORTLY AFTER 2PM. MY GRANDMOTHER WAS IN FRONT OF THE MOTOR CYCLE AND SAID IT WAS A BLUE OR GREEN CAR THAT HIT THE CYCLE.

The article says 3:30, but it must have happened before 3:30, because they had to detour me at 3:00 to pick up the kids from school. There were police and ambulances everywhere.
