Durant’s D.A.R.E. Rodeo

DURANT, Okla. -- More than 6,000 Oklahoma students were raising awareness about drugs and having fun at the same time at the D.A.R.E. Rodeo at Choctaw Coliseum in Durant on Tuesday afternoon.

The event included a rodeo, dancers, even a man wearing a jet pack, but whole purpose was to teach children it is okay to ‘just say no!’

"We pass out information, have a lunch, make it entertaining for our kids but the big message is about drugs to be informative, and if they are informative, they will know how bad they are,” Choctaw Nation Chief Greg Pyle said.

The rodeo started about four o’clock Tuesday afternoon, and kids from all over Texoma attended.
