Mentor program partners with Sherman Chamber

SHERMAN, Tex. -- A small program with a lot of potential is getting a boost in Sherman. Big Brothers Big Sisters is partnering with the Sherman Chamber of Commerce and Washington Elementary to help local children.

It's all to help children realize their dreams through the mentor me program. Organizers hope this will encourage people to volunteer through the school to provide role models for kids.

"We have a high need for mentors in our community, especially at Washington. With the partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters and the chamber, we can spread the word further," says Nele Rogers of Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Texas.

If you'd like to volunteer, call 903-893-0900. You can donate your time through the school program or you can volunteer in the program's community-based program.
